The Blue Lake Golf and Tennis Club was formed in 1972 when the Blue Lake Property Owners Association purchased the course from the developer.
Continuous improvements have been made over the years including a sprinkler system in 1985, enlargement of the clubhouse, and the addition
of new tennis courts. In 1997 the course was connected to the effluent return water line to conserve water.
The 9 Hole course has been consistently included in the Top 10 Nine Hole Courses in the State of Texas.
The course, although it does not have any sand or water hazards, is a challenging layout due to the rolling terrain,
granite outcroppings, rough, and elevated greens. The course was designed by Joe Finger of Houston.

Packsaddle Country Club features an 18 hole course built in 1968 by Leon Howard. The course, on flat terrain and is easy to walk,
making this a great course for beginning and average players. Water hazards come into play on nine holes.Trees are also prevalent
throughout the course but the large landing areas give you plenty of opportunity to avoid them. Interestingly, another Howard trademark
is bunkers, or more accurately, a lack of them. Put the sand wedge away and bring your ball retriever in its place.
The golf course at Packsaddle Country Club is open year round and tee times are accepted.
Perhaps the best feature of this course is the price week days $13.00 and weekends $20.00

300 Alamo Plaza
San Antonio, Texas 78299
More than 2.5 million people a year visit the 4.2 acre
complex known worldwide as "The Alamo."
|
|
Most come to see the old mission where a small band of Texans held out for
thirteen days against the Centralist army of General Antonio López de Santa Anna.
Although the Alamo fell in the early morning hours of March 6, 1836, the death of
the Alamo Defenders has come to symbolize courage and sacrifice for the cause of Liberty.
The memories of James Bowie, David Crockett, and William B. Travis are as powerful today
as when the Texan Army under Sam Houston shouted "Remember the Alamo!" as it routed
Santa Anna at the battle of San Jacinto on April 21, 1836.
The Alamo has been managed by the Daughters of the Republic of Texas since
1905. Located on Alamo Plaza in downtown San Antonio, Texas, the Alamo
represents nearly 300 years of history. Three buildings - the Shrine, Long
Barrack Museum and Gift Museum - house exhibits on the Texas Revolution and
Texas History. Visitors are welcome to stroll through the beautiful Alamo
Gardens. Just a short distance from the River Walk, the Alamo is a "must see".

Longhorn Cavern State Park features Longhorn Cavern, a Texas Hill Country wonder created over thousands
of years by the dissolving and cutting action of water on the limestone bedrock of the area. Fossil
remains show that many Ice Age animals once occupied the cave.
Our earliest records indicate that the Comanche Indians were the first to use the cavern. They came in
about 400 years or so before anyone else did.
In more recent history, the cavern was used as a Confederate stronghold where gunpowder was manufactured
in secret during the Civil War. The cavern is also rumored to have been the hideout of Sam Bass, a legendary
Texas outlaw.

Colorado River Trail
|
Downstream from the Highland Lakes, the
Colorado River
offers some great opportunities for water recreation.
From the Longhorn Dam on Town Lake in Austin, the Colorado slowly meanders 290 miles to the Gulf of Mexico.
Dozens of public access points dot this part of the river and encourage canoeing, kayaking, and fishing.
